When Things Don't Go as Planned: A Lesson from Yesterday

Yesterday was supposed to be a productive and exciting day. I received a call from a recruiter in the evening with great news—my profile was shortlisted for a Data Analyst position! The recruiter mentioned that they would send me an assessment link that I needed to complete and submit by the end of the day.

But here’s the twist: the link never arrived.
Within 15 minutes of the call, I reached out to the recruiter to clarify, but there was no response. I kept waiting, thinking it might still come through, but the silence continued. I ended up losing a full day of work, waiting and preparing for something that never materialized.
While I understand that recruitment can be a fast-paced and complex process, clear communication is key—especially for candidates who are investing time and effort into the process.
This incident left me wondering:
How irresponsible some recruiters are?
Has anyone else faced a similar situation, and how did you handle it?
I’d love to hear your thoughts or advice on how to navigate such situations better. Let’s start a conversation!
